DIGITAL SIGNAGE AND CMS

Description

Deliver a 64-channel ONVIF video recording and rendering system in which four Renesas RZ/G3E cards each decode and render 16 camera streams in tiled form onto one panel of a 2×2 video wall. Recordings are stored on shared NAS storage, AI inference runs at the edge on each RZ/G3E card, and a CMS Server acts as the central coordinator for control and configuration of camera, recording, storage, and rendering operations. The system shall comply with ONVIF Profiles S and T and target STQC compliance.

System Architecture

Up to 64 ONVIF IP cameras stream over the network, with each RZ/G3E card handling 16 assigned channels. Each card decodes and renders its channels as tiles on its HDMI panel. Each card also runs on-board AI inference and records its channels to shared NAS storage under coordinator policy. The CMS Server (Renesas RZ/Gx, Yocto Linux) acts as the control plane, managing camera discovery/assignment, recording and storage policy, layout selection, diagnostics, and user management. Unlike a traditional NVR, this system uses NAS storage instead of local disks and on-board per-card AI inference instead of pluggable AI modules. It also scales to 64 ONVIF camera inputs and runs the coordinator on an embedded RZ/Gx platform instead of an x86 server.

System Architecture Use Cases

1. Real-Time Video Wall Monitoring                  2. Playback of Recorded Videos                3. Edge AI Analytics
